Mid-term evaluations take place every semester at Reykjavik Technical College. Students answer questions about the teaching in various courses and teachers inform students as to their standing in each course separately, based primarily on assessments that have taken place during the term.
The mid-term evaluation is given in letters as follows:
A = Good. The student is doing very well.
B = Adequate. The student has a grasp of the material but should keep working hard.
C = Inadequate. The student needs to work much harder in order to pass the course.
X = No basis for evaluation.
Students who get a C should make an appointment with a student counsellor or the course teacher to plan their studies, students who get a B should keep working hard to improve themselves further and students who get an A should keep up the good work.
