It is the aim of Technical College Reykjavik to support students to set clear goals and objective and work systematically to obtain those goals and objectives. We put emphasis on ways of life that lead to self-worth, self-control and results. We also put emphasis on respect for others and their uniqueness, student activites, good cafeterias og diverse student services. The college wants to provide help to those who have become addicted to drugs and the school has clear rules when it comes to tobacco and alcohol and other addictive substances.

One prevention director works at the college, Guðlaug Kjartansdóttir.

• Prevention director works with student activities directors to coordinate substance free activities.
• He is available for students that are concerned about substance abuse or their friends´and/relatives´abuse.
• He coordinates information sessions for students and staff.
• He assists teachers and staff when they believe that a student is abusing drugs or alcohol.
• He assists those who are abusing alcohol or other substances.
