Distance learning – Students

How do I attend classes remotely?

First you need access to the school’s computer system. This access allows you to use all the student computers at Tækniskólinn (Technical College Reykjavik) as well as the programs you need for distance learning.

You log in using your school email address and password. If you do not know this email address, you can go to lykilord.tskoli.is to retrieve the information. There you enter your personal email (the one you have registered in Inna) and press the send button. You will receive an email to your personal email address containing your username and school email address. This email also contains a link where you can reset your password.

Please note that it can take up to two hours for the password to start working.

The next step is to open your school email inbox. The best way to do that is to go to tskoli.is. At the bottom of that page you will find a button labelled “Vefpóstur” (please note that this is on the Icelandic version of the page not the English one.) In your inbox you should find an email welcoming you to your Teams classes.

What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is the program used by Tækniskólinn for remote learning. It is therefore very important for you to familiarise yourself with it. Inna will continue to be the main study web where teachers log assignments and announcements. Teams is an addition to that – a way for teachers to contact students directly outside of school.
