Announcement from principal
Dear students in Tækniskólinn
This afternoon it was announced by the government that primary and secondary schools and universities in Iceland would be closed at midnight due to a rise in COVID infections. We have thus decided to switch to online teaching for the remainder of this week which is then followed by Easter break. Classes will in general be held remotely on Teams tomorrow and on Friday according to your timetable. If your class is cancelled your teacher will send you information about that.
At midnight, card access for those of you who have access to the school after hours and on weekends, will be turned off and will remain that way at least through the Easter holiday.
If you need to get any personal belongings that you have in our school buildings, e.g. books, tools or clothes, before the Easter holiday, I ask you to send an e-mail to [email protected] no later than tomorrow morning (Thursday 25.3). You need to specify your name, what things you need to get and where they are located in the e-mail. You will then receive information by e-mail about when you can access your belongings.
If you have not used Teams before or do not have it installed on your phone or computer you will find very good instructions here:
If you run into any problems, I encourage you to contact our computer service team by e-mail: [email protected]
We hope that we as a nation will be able to put an end to the COVID wave that seems to be on the rise quickly and surely. We do not know at this time how the school will be run after Easter but we will let you know in time.
Best regards,
Principal Hildur
