This School has four study programmes: K2, Academic studies for matriculation examination, a Special Education programme and Icelandic as a second language.
Students graduating with a matriculation certificate from the Technical College Reykjavik have the advantage of students graduating from traditional Icelandic upper secondary schools in that they have completed courses from two study programmes. The education towards the matriculation examination is supplementary to the vocational branch that the students choose, such as design, computer studies, cabinet making etc.
Students can also matriculate within the branch of natural sciences with a specialisation in aeronautics, electro-technical studies, marine engineering or engine technology.
Study in collaboration with colleges and the job market
Study programme for students looking for a solid foundation in the STEM fields. The programme is three years and students graduate with a matriculation exam. Students gain valuable insight into the job market doing their final projects in collaboration with companies in the field.
Students also get the opportunity to learn about various trades by doing electives in other departments of the school each semester. The programme is organised in collaboration with Reykjavík University and leading tech industry companies.
The aim of the programme is to give students a unique opportunity to:
- tackle demanding projects and practice lateral thinking.
- get to know the university environment and start building a network.
