Independence Day is next Friday on December 1st.

The day is celebrated to commemorate December 1st in 1918. On that day laws defining Iceland’s status in its relationship with Denmark were ratified. Among the things declared in the laws was Denmark’s recognition of Iceland as a free and independent nation.

To mark the occasion Technical College is inviting students and staff to a festive coffee and cake buffet. The coffee will be in the students dining hall in Háteigsvegur, Hafnarfjörður and Skólavörðuholt and starts at 9:50.

We encourage everyone to dress up for the Independence Day celebration.
