The Technical College Reykjavík has two graduations a year, in May and December. A student completes his studies at the school when he has completed certain courses, and the number of units specified in his course description. When graduating, the student receives a certificate stating which program he has completed.

 

Graduation

The Technical Col­l­e­ge’s graduation for the autumn semester 2024 will take place in Eld­borg in Harpa, on Wed­nesday, Dec­ember 18th.

 

Registration for graduation

It is important that a stu­dent aiming to graduate this semester reg­isters for graduation with their principal before the announced dea­dline, which can be seen in the school calendar.

The principal reviews the stu­dent’s aca­demic record and reg­isters him as a candi­date for graduation in Inna. Note that the stu­dent must inform the principal if he is taking courses at another school before graduation.

The principal con­firms the candi­dates for graduation in Inna after the dea­dline has passed according to VKL-204

The Technical Col­lege Reykjavík, in colla­boration with Formal Stúd­ents­húfur and P. Eyfeld, has off­ered cap fitting for graduating stu­dents.

Formal Stúdentshúfur

You can order a graduation cap on the Formal website, as well as find information about graduation packages that are available.

Stu­dents are also welcome to visit the company to get cap mea­surements and put in an order.

No, it’s not mandatory, but many people find it festive. One year, stu­dents in audio technology wore hea­dp­hones. The choice is yours!

I can't make it to graduation cap fitting at school. Can I have a fitting later?

Those who do not have the opport­unity to attend graduation cap fitting at school, can get in touch with P. Eyfeld or Formal stúdentshúfur.

What color should my graduation cap be?

The choice is yours, but it has been tra­dition for app­rentices to wear burg­undy caps, navigation navy blue, marine eng­ineering black and those who graduate with a mat­riculation exam­ination white.

What hats do master's students wear?

Burg­undy caps like other app­rentices.

I have a cap since I graduated secondary school. Can I use the same cap but buy a new cover?

Yes, it is possible to remove the cover and put on a new cover with a dif­f­erent colour.

If I can’t make it to graduation, when will I get my graduation certificate?

After graduation, a certificate can be obtained from the school office. The office will later contact those who have yet to col­lect their certificate.
